What are the dates of the Ocean City Air Show?

The 2021 Ocean City Air Show will be held June 19-20, 2021.

What time is the show on Saturday and Sunday?

The Drop Zone Beach open at 9 am on Saturday and Sunday. The Flight Line Club beach area will open at 10 am on Saturday and Sunday.

The program kicks off at 11:30am and the aerial portion of the show runs from noon to about 3:00/3:30 pm.

What time is the practice on Friday?

Practice schedules are subject to change and are therefore not published. You will likely see planes flying all throughout the week prior to the show. We are unable to post our practice schedules as they are subject to change. We recommend staying tuned to our Facebook page for arrival and flight updates on all your favorite acts.

Will the schedule be the same both days?

All the major acts, which you can see on our Performer Page, will perform both days. The specific line-ups of each day’s show are posted about 1-2 weeks prior to the show.

Can I come and go from the ticketed beach areas during the day?

Absolutely! Drop Zone Beach and Sand Box guests will receive a wristband that will allow you to go out and re-enter throughout the day. VIP Flight Line Club guests will receive a wristband and a lanyard for reentry to the beach area. You can also access the water from all beach ticketed areas.

Where is show center?

A good portion of the show is viewable from about 25th Street south to around 12th Street. The ticketed beach areas are at show center from 15th Street to 17th Street. We cannot guarantee views outside of the ticketed areas.

Will there be a radio broadcast of the show's narration?

No. The narration of the event will only be available via speakers in the Drop Zone and VIP areas.

There will be a live digital broadcast of the show available at air.show.

Do you recommend ear protection for children?

Ear protection is not required, but is recommended, especially for children under 5 who may be startled by the noise of the aerial performance teams.

How do I request media credentials?

Please contact our Director of Public Relations, Chris Dirato at pr@air.show no later than 2 weeks prior to the show. Due to the volume of request, please note that only credentialed media are eligible for media credentials to the event.

Can't I just watch the show from the sidewalk or road?

For safety and security reasons, security personnel must keep pedestrian traffic flowing along the boardwalk. Spectators are prohibited from setting up chairs on the street, but are encourage to purchase a ticket to the Drop Zone premium beach area, or to find a public location somewhere north or south on the coast.

Where is the Lost & Found located?

Lost and Found will be located in a tent near show center. Please email info@air.show regarding lost items following the show.

Can I view the show from a boat?

Absolutely – please see our Viewing from a Boat page.

Are there static plane displays that I can see?

We do have a large vendor area, but there are not planes on site to view due to the nature of this event as a beach flyover show.

Security Questions

What should I bring to the show?

Sunscreen, a beach chair and a beach or handheld umbrella for shade. Everything else is available for purchase in the Drop Zone Beach.

Are coolers or food allowed?

Coolers with food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed in the Drop Zone and Sand Box ticket areas. However, food and drinks (including alcohol) are available for sale. Flight Line Club, Skybox and Penthouse VIP guests are provided with food and beverage, so no outside food is necessary unless you have a food allergy or sensitivity.

Are tents or awnings allowed?

Beach umbrellas are fine, but tents, awnings, overhangs or any other type of shelter is prohibited in all ticketed beach areas.

Are backpacks and bags allowed in the Drop Zone Beach?

Backpacks and bags are allowed, but will be subject to security inspection upon entrance. All prohibited items mentioned in these FAQs will be confiscated or guests will be asked to return them to their vehicles.

Can I smoke or vape?

No, per city ordinances, smoking on the beach is prohibited. You may locate designated smoking areas along the A1A sidewalk.

Are cameras and video recorders allowed?

Yes, feel free to take as many photos/videos as you would like.

Can I bring my dog/cat/pet?

No. City ordinances do not allow pets to be brought onto the beach. In addition, an air show is not a positive environment for our four-legged friends.

Are wagons and strollers allowed?

Yes, just please be courteous to other guests around you. May be subject to search.

Can I bring a BBQ grill?

BBQ Grills are strictly prohibited.

Seating Questions

Do I need to bring my own chairs?

We recommend that all attendees with Drop Zone tickets bring their own seating. Personal seating is discouraged from being brought into the Flight Line Club VIP or Sand Boxes, as seating is provided in each of these beach areas. You will pick up your seat as you enter into the ticketed area and set up where you would like. Seating is also provided in the Friends & Family of the Air Show, Penthouse, Skybox and corporate chalets area.

Is there access to the water in the Drop Zone and Flight Line Club beach areas?

Yes! We have a special gate at the edge of the waterfront in both areas for guests to come and go from the water.

Is there shaded seating?

Shade is limited as the show viewing area is on the beach. You will be allowed to bring a hand-held personal or beach umbrella.

Can I bring a tent, awning, or pop-up shade?

Due to safety concerns for all patrons, personal tents are not allowed. Personal hand-held or beach umbrellas are allowed.

Accessibility Questions

I have an elderly relative - will there be handicap access to the show?

Our air show is ADA compliant to the greatest extent possible. We do make guests aware that the Drop Zone and Flight Line Club VIP area are both out on the beach directly on the sand. For guests with disabilities, we recommend giving yourself just a little bit of extra time to get down to the seating areas and considering either the Skybox or Penthouse seating areas.

Will there be beach wheelchairs?

The air show is unable to provide beach wheelchairs. There are often independent vendors on site with these special wheelchairs available for rent on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Parking Questions

Please note that our air show entertains thousands of guests each year, which in turn means a significant amount of traffic throughout Ocean City Beach and the surrounding beachside communities during the weekend of the show. Please be sure to give yourself 60-75 additional minutes of arrival time prior to the show for public parking.

The aerial portion of the show ends around 3pm. Significant exiting traffic means that it may take 1-2 hours to depart from the area at the conclusion of each day’s show. We ask that guests please be patient and abide by all instructions provided by the local police, Maryland State Troopers, and parking attendants on site to guide guests.

Where do I buy parking?

One parking pass per purchase is included with the following ticket levels: VIP Flight Line Club, VIP Skybox, and VIP Penthouse. Please note that all guests with Drop Zone or Sand Box ticket will need to use regular paid public parking.

Public parking is typically available at the West OC Park and Ride, but please note that it is subject to availability and any local restrictions in place. Please consult their website, linked above, for further information. Local business owners may also charge for public parking on demand. Please note that our air show is not affiliated with any parking area or company.

Do I need to print my parking pass?

We do recommend if possible to print your parking pass. However, it may also be shown via your phone. Parking passes are sent via email prior to the show.

Are there shuttles?

Typically, shuttle service is provided from the VIP Flight Line Club parking lot to the Ocean City Boardwalk. Guest must then walk out to their designated ticketed seating area. As noted above, please consult the West OC Park and Ride website for details on general parking and shuttle to the Ocean City Boardwalk.
