  1. Brandi Larsen says:

I would love to know how to book a room at the hotels within the area 15,16 or 17th street. Any suggestion as to how I can do this? At the moment it seems none of them have openings.

    • OC Air Show says:

The best option is to call them directly – they likely can put you on a waiting list should there be any openings available for the weekend. They do book up quickly for the weekend of the show because of their proximity to show center!

    • OC Air Show says:

Show Center is at 16th Street, so a few dozen blocks north or south can probably see most of the show.

    • OC Air Show says:

Show Center is at 16th Street, so a few dozen blocks north or south can probably see most of the show. Not sure about that far out.

      • Robert Banach says:

Hey OC Air Show- You stated “The show is on Father’s Day weekend each year, now on your page it’s showing the weekend before???

          • Robert Banach says:

Thank you! Probably too early, but I’ll ask anyway, looking ahead Father’s Day will be 3rd weekend for a couple years… Should we figure on 2nd weekend instead of Father’s Day Weekend?

          • OC Air Show says:

Yeah, assume 2nd weekend in June for a while! 🙂 But we always let everyone know as soon as the show of that year closes, so you’ll never be without 364 days of forewarning!

  2. Peter says:

Are we able to bring a cooler into the drop zone area? Can we bring our own alcohol beverages, drinks,& food?

    • OC Air Show says:

Yes, you can bring a cooler but with food and non-alcoholic drinks only. There will be alcohol available for sale at the Drop Zone.

    • OC Air Show says:

Your best bet will likely be the general parking at the West Ocean Park & Ride with shuttle service over to the Boardwalk.

  3. Lori Edwards says:

Can you see some of the Air show up by 50th Street? Do they fly in other areas besides where the show is?

    • OC Air Show says:

Show center is at 16th Street, so we can’t guarantee what you’ll be able to see that far north, but you should see some.

  4. Bill T says:

    Are tripods allowed for photography?

I shoot with a long lens. This is both heavy and expensive, so laying it down on a blanket or something with sand around is not a good idea.

  5. John says:

I have an autistic child who does not do well with crowds, but would like to see the air show from a more remote location. How far away would you be able to see the show if on the beach?

    • OC Air Show says:

Hey John, yeah, between the noises and the crowds, air shows can be really difficult environments for our loved ones on the spectrum. Show center is at around 16th street, so a little bit north or south of that you’ll definitely still have great views. It’s hard to say a specific zone that will definitely have views of all the acts, because each plane flies a little different of a vector depending on from what base or airfield they are arriving. Sorry not to be able to be more specific than that, but we hope you’ll find a fun and relaxing place for your son to enjoy the show. In addition, the aerial show runs from noon to 3:30 pm, with the Blue Angels flying at the end, so if your child really wants to see the Angels, that’s the time to go out and look up. We also recommend ear protection – for kids with heightened sensitivities, it can be really helpful for them to see the planes but not get overwhelmed by the jet engines. Let us know if you have any follow-up questions, and we hope you enjoy the show!

  6. Lauren Foley says:

Any tips for a group that will be watching from a boat? This is our first time attending and plan to take out boat out into the ocean.
Are there good spots to watch from in the bay?
    Thank you!

  7. Bill white says:

We watched them practice either Thursday or Friday last year Do you know if this wil be the case this year and when

    • OC Air Show says:

Yes, they’ll be some flying on Thursday and Friday, but we can’t post the schedules as they are subject to change.

    • OC Air Show says:

Yes, umbrellas and chairs will be available for rent at the drop zone. I’m not certain of the exact cost, but they are all day rentals.

  8. Steve Kestermann 703-887-1428 says:

I was wondering if there are any sky writers that would wish my wife of 33 years a happy annaversary at sat airshow for a donation to a charity of there choice. my wife has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer and i want to do something special for her.

    • OC Air Show says:

Hi Steve, that is such a sweet thing to ask. Lots of well-wishes to your wife for health and healing on her journey. Unfortunately, we cannot take special requests for the acts in the show, but do know that we are all wishing you both the best.

  9. Daphne says:

Will we be able to meet, get autographs and pictures with the pilots? If so, where do they set up for that? We’ve never been to this show and thought we’d try to get there, since the Blues won’t be coming to Oceana in Virginia Beach this year. Also, are there vendors selling Blue Angel collectibles? Thanks in advance for your help!

    • OC Air Show says:

Hi Daphne, so we have a couple “Meet-and-greet” event prior to the show that is the best options for meeting the perfomers on Thursday and Friday. That’s your best options for autographs, as during the shows on Saturday and Sunday, the performers are generally out at the airports with their crafts.

  10. Debbie says:

We purchased two tickets but when opening the ticket link the ticket showing is “2 of 2”. Who do we contact to get the first ticket to emailed??

    • OC Air Show says:

Hey Debbie, I forwarded your voicemail to our Box Office Support team to get that first ticket reissued to you. There should have been multiple sheets, so we’ll make sure you get it asap.

  11. Melinda Tingle 302/875-0355 says:

I have purchased nine flight line vip tickets and I cannot fit 9 people in a single vehicle. How do I secure an additional parking pass? I should have thought more about breaking up the
Order into two separate orders. Thank you for your assistance.

    • OC Air Show says:

Hi Melinda, unfortunately due to the limited parking available for the Ocean City, we can only do one parking pass per order. However, if you would, please send an email to info@air.show and we’ll see if there’s any additional parking spots we can potentially make available for you.

    • OC Air Show says:

For Drop Zone Ticketed guests, gates open at 9 am and once your tickets are scanned, you will receive a wristband that will allow you to come and go from the beach as you please. So you can drop your chairs early in a spot you like, then come and go as you please until the show starts at noon.

  12. Chris says:

Do you have a list of places we can park? Is the Shuttle I keep hearing about from the West Ocean City Park and Ride and what time does that start?

    • OC Air Show says:

We do not, as all parking across the area is subject to the private businesses that run the lots. There is a West Ocean City Park and Ride, but you need to contact them directly regarding the time of the shuttles.

  13. Mary says:

Is a personal canopy allowed in the drop zone? It looks like a beach umbrella with side walls extending to the ground.

    • OC Air Show says:

Unfortunately, we can only allow personal beach umbrellas – no other awnings of any kind are allowed.

    • OC Air Show says:

Your best option is the West Ocean Park and Ride, which has parking and a shuttle to the boardwalk. There will also be local businesses with parking spots for sale along the boardwalk, but it’s first-come, first-serve and subject to availability.

  14. Michael J Yorio says:

Love the show. Come every year. Will you issue a general schedule of events, that is, a list of performers with the approximate time for each? If so, would love a copy. Thanks for doing such a great job each year.

    • OC Air Show says:

Hi Melisa, we do recommend if possible that you have ear protection for our youngest guests. We have some kids that do JUST fine, but others who might be startled by the very loud noises of the jets. Of course it’s ultimately up to you, but there are some great noise canceling headphone options for babies and toddlers available at your local chain store.

    • OC Air Show says:

You’d need to double check with the inlet directly. We do not have any road closures there, but they may for security reasons.

  15. Holly says:

Ive just recently discovered that there is an air show in OC Md. I’m from Annapolis and grew up seeing the Blue Angels there. I want to take my 9yr old to see the Angels fly and thought it might be nice to come there to Ocean City. Now that I’m investigating further, I see there are tickets, etc… (in Annapolis, it was free, you just had to look up) Sooo, is the whole beach shut down to this event? Are there areas where you are able to see the planes without having a ticket? I guess I was envisioning going to the beach as normal, but are the usual beach activities shut down?

    • OC Air Show says:

Hi Holly, great to hear that you heard about our show! Yes, there are tickets for our Drop Zone Beach area, which allows a close-up view and premium sound system to hear the show. You can see our Event Site Map here for the location of the show and where beach closures are located.

  16. Katie McGinnis says:

How far down the beach will we be able to view the show? I know parking is always and issue, so how far down is too far?

    • OC Air Show says:

Hi Katie, so you can see our Event Site Map here, which shows where the main activities and flights are taking place. The show is mostly from 15th to 17th street, however some acts may fly beyond those boundaries, depending on the routes that they take. Most businesses along and across from the boardwalk area will be offering paid parking for guests coming to see the show, but it is first-come, first-serve, since parking is limited.

  17. Lynn says:

We stay up at the top of the boardwalk and my older mother has to stay indoors. Will the show extend the whole boardwalk up to the inlet or just in front of the designated areas?

    • OC Air Show says:

It depends on the plane how far up and down the boardwalk they fly, but if you are off of the boardwalk, you should have pretty good views.

  18. Maria says:

Last year was my first time attending the show & I had a couple of senior citizens with me. We watched from the beach across from the Convention Center. I had difficulty parking last year near the beach & wound up going to the Convention Center & begging to park there. Will parking be allowed in the Convention Center lot this year for those of us with handicapped tags? Taking the bus is not a possibility.

    • OC Air Show says:

You would need to speak with the Convention Center directly. At this time, there is no public parking of which we are aware at the Convention Center, at least not directly through us at the air show.

        • OC Air Show says:

Parking is all run by the private businesses located around the show, so it’s first-come, first-serve and subject to availability. It’s the nature of the location! There is also a West Ocean City Park and Ride that you can contact regarding parking and shuttle transportation to the boardwalk.

  19. David says:

Does the Drop Zone sell out? We are staying in OC Saturday night and don’t mind paying the gate price. We are more concerned with weather – would go on either day depending which is better, but don’t want it to sell out on us.

    • OC Air Show says:

Saturday occasionally sells out, but we are still good on numbers for this year. Sunday is usually a little lighter attended, but with the same performers, so that’s always a great option!

  20. Greg says:

Are tickets required to access/view to the displays?

The OC Air Show displays and exhibits located on 12th to 20th streets off the boardwalks will feature simulators, interactive exhibits, and much more. The displays will be open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

  21. Jack says:

I purchased two tickets for the Drop Zone on Sunday but won’t be able to attend. Are those two tickets refundable? I will be there on Saturday if by chance this could be taken care of at that time.

    • OC Air Show says:

Tickets are not refundable, but if you call our box office at 877-722-2927 they would be happy to transfer those over to Saturday for you.

    • OC Air Show says:

Our Drop Zone tickets are the regular general admission tickets. Everything else is the upgraded VIP experience. 🙂

    • OC Air Show says:

The Drop Zone tickets are the regular general admission tickets – everything else is the upgraded VIP experience.

  22. Patsy Mayer says:

We will be vacationing in the area that week, just purchased drop zone tix online, but inquiring about general parking, where to park! We have not been to Ocean City in the past, so unfamiliar with the area. Thanks! Look forward to another amazing Blue Angels Air Show!

    • OC Air Show says:

Best bet is the ocean city park and ride, or if you are staying at a hotel, call a cab or ride share to take you down to show center!

  23. 410-776-3264 says:

What parking areas are nearby? Will the view be blocked from all the beach umbrellas I n the drop zone area.

    • OC Air Show says:

Beach umbrellas don’t obscure the view too bad – that’s one of the reasons why we allow those and not pop-up awnings. Parking is tight in Ocean City, so your best bet is something like the Ocean City Park & Ride.

  24. Michelle says:

We are looking at purchasing tickets in the drop zone. Can we bring a beach caddy to carry your blankets, chairs and umbrellas? Also, can we bring outside food and drinks into the Drop Zone? Thank you!

  25. Tom Lombardo says:

I purchased Flight line club VIP tickets for Saturday, but, have not yet received a parking pass. Will they be coming soon? Thanks.

    • OC Air Show says:

We have not yet sent out the parking passes, so you are fine! They will be sent out closer to the date of the show.

  26. Mike says:

Does the Drop Zone viewing area extend all the way to the ocean (is there a specific Drop Zone swimming area)?

  27. Joe says:

I have notices in past years many people watching from boats or sand bars in Assawoman Bay. I suspect some people watch from boats in the Ocean. Is there a restricted area where boats are excluded?

    • OC Air Show says:

There are some restrictions that will be provided by the Coast Guard prior to the show. However, yes, there are those who choose to watch from off the coast.

  28. Donna says:

I am attempting to book my 2020 reservations at an OC Campground; therefore, I am requesting DEFINITE DATES for the 2020 OC Air Show. What are the CONFIRMED DATES for the 2020 (next year) Ocean City, Maryland Air Show, please?

    • OC Air Show says:

Hi Donna, unfortunately, we cannot make that announcement until all contracts and acts are in place for the next year. We always announce the next year’s show at 4 pm when this year’s show ends on Sunday! That being said, this event is quite consistently held on this weekend each year.

    • OC Air Show says:

The show aircraft tend to practice throughout the week, but usually closer to the show dates on Saturday and Sunday.

  29. Shari says:

Hi, What date does the advance purchase amount expire for the Flight Line Club. Right now they are $146.00. How long until that price increases?

  30. Matthew Chambliss says:

We are both (my wife and I) retired US Navy veteran and owned my own vending business in Maryland. We would like to know how to participate in the up coming air show in Oceana City.

    Matthew Chambliss

  31. Lee says:

Where do the planes fly from and land at It seems that the local municipal airport isn’t big enough to handle everyone

    • OC Air Show says:

Hey Lee, the planes fly from a couple different places, including the local Salisbury Regional Airport and Wallops Air Force base. Thanks for the great question!
