Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the date of the show?
The 2020 Ocean City Air Show will be June 13-14, 2020. Show Center is located at the 16th Street Beach.
- What are the hours of the show?
Gates to the Drop Zone Beach for Premium Ticketed Viewing open each day at 9am. The aerial portion of the show will run from noon to about 3:30 pm.
- What time does the Flight Line Club VIP area and the Corporate Chalets open?
The Flight Line Club VIP , VIP Penthouse and Chalets open each day at 10am.
- Where are the entrances for the Drop Zone Beach located?
There are two entrances for Drop Zone located at 14th street and 15th street.
- What age kids are free?
Kids 5 and under are free in the Drop Zone Beach; 2 and under are free for Flight Line Club, Penthouse and Skybox VIP areas.
- Will the schedule be the same both days?
All the major acts, which you can see here on our Performer Page, will perform both days. The specific line-ups of each day’s show are posted about 1-2 weeks prior to the show.
- Can I go in and out of the Drop Zone and Flight Line Club Beach areas during the day?
Absolutely! You will receive a wristband that will allow you to go out and re-enter the Drop Zone Beach. Flight Line VIP Club guests will receive a wristband and a lanyard for reentry to the beach.
- Are there static displays of aircraft?
We do have a large vendor area located on the Ocean City Board walk located approximately between 14th and 17th Street that is open to the public. Since our aerial performers fly over the beach, there are not planes on site to view due to the inability to land.
- When do the planes practice?
You will likely see planes flying all throughout the week prior to the show. We are unable to post our practice schedules as they are subject to change. We recommend staying tuned to our Facebook page for arrival and flight updates on all your favorite acts.
- Can I view the show from a boat?
Absolutely – please see our Viewing from a Boat page.
- Can I just watch from the Boardwalk?
For safety and security reasons, security personnel must keep pedestrian traffic flowing along the boardwalk. Spectators are prohibited from setting up chairs on the boardwalk, but are encourage to purchase a ticket to the Drop Zone premium beach area, or to find a public location somewhere on the coast.
- Will I be able to see the show from anywhere along the beach in Ocean City?
Show Center is at 16th Street. Each plane will fly a different route above the beach centered on that location. We cannot guarantee the views from locations outside the 14th Street to 17th Street area.
- Will there be a broadcast of the show’s narration on local radio?
No. The narration of the event will only be available via speakers in the Drop Zone and VIP areas.
- Do you recommend ear protection for children?
Ear protection is not required, but is recommended, especially for children under 5 who may be startled by the noise of the aerial performance teams.
- How do I request media credentials?
Please contact our Director of Public Relations, Chris Dirato at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 2 weeks prior to the show. Due to the volume of request, please note that only credentialed media are eligible for media credentials to the event.
- Where is Lost & Found located?
At the Guest Support Tent located on the Boardwalk at 16th Street.
- What do you recommend bringing to the show?
Sunscreen, a beach chair and an umbrella for shade. Everything else is available in the Drop Zone Beach.
- Are backpacks allowed into the Drop Zone?
Backpacks are allowed, but will be subject to security inspection upon entrance.
- Are wagons or strollers allowed into the Drop Zone?
Yes, just please be courteous to other guests around you.
- Are cameras and video recorders allowed?
Yes, feel free to take as many photos/videos as you would like.
- Are pets allowed on the beach?
No, city ordinances prohibit bringing pets onto the beach.
- Can I smoke or vape in the Drop Zone Beach?
No, per city ordinances, smoking on the beach is prohibited. You may locate designated smoking areas along the boardwalk.
- Are there any shaded areas?
Shade is limited as the show viewing area is on the beach. You will be allowed to bring a hand-held personal or beach umbrella.
- Is there access to the waterfront from the Drop Zone and Flight Line Club VIP Beaches?
Yes! We have a special gate at the edge of the waterfront in both areas for guests to come and go from the water.
- Can I bring a tent, awning or baby tent?
Due to safety concerns for all patrons, personal tents are not allowed. Personal hand-held or beach umbrellas are allowed.
- Do I need to bring my own seating or can I purchase/rent seating there at the event?
We recommend that all attendees with Drop Zone tickets bring their own seating. There will be independent vendors not affiliated with the air show management company onsite with limited seating available for rent on a first-come, first-serve basis. Personal seating is discouraged from being brought into the Flight Line Club VIP, Skybox VIP or VIP Penthouse, as seating is provided in each of these venues. Seating is also provided in the Friends & Family of the Air Show area.
- I have an elderly relative – will there be handicap access to the show?
We try to make guests aware that the Drop Zone and Flight Line Club VIP area are both out on the beach directly on the sand. For guests with disabilities, we recommend giving yourself just a little bit of extra time to get down to the seating areas. We also have two non-beach ticket options, our Skybox and Penthouse Seating, that are located on hotel balconies directly across from show center.
- Will there be beach wheelchairs?
The air show is unable to provide beach wheelchairs. There are sometimes independent vendors on site with these special wheelchairs available for rent on a first-come, first-serve basis.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE QUESTIONS
- Can I bring food with me?
Yes, a cooler with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages for you and your family is fine. All coolers will be subject to security inspection upon entrance to the beach. No alcoholic beverages are allowed to be brought onto the beach.
- Is there going to be food & drinks for purchase in the Drop Zone beach area?
Yes, a variety of food and beverage items will be available including beer ranging in price from $3-$15 in the boardwalk area.
- Is alcohol available for purchase in the Drop Zone?
Yes, beer will be available for purchase. It must be purchased on-site. No outside alcohol can be brought into the Drop Zone Beach area.
- Will food and beverage available for purchase be cash only? Will credit cards be accepted?
Food and beverage vendors will accept both cash and credit cards.
- Will vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free food options be available for purchase?
Our concessionaire makes every effort to ensure menu items are suitable for all guests. Additionally, there are several restaurants along the boardwalk that offer full service menus to accommodate your needs.
- What are your preferred hotels?
Our Where-to-Stay page features the hotels where the pilots and teams are staying. Please note that these locations book up many months in advance prior to the show.
- Where can I park?
Parking in Ocean City can be difficult even on non-event days. Please note that unlike in previous years, the West Ocean Park & Ride will not be in operation. Therefore, guests are recommended to locate available parking throughout the city. Private businesses not affiliated with the air show management company around the Boardwalk will also be offering paid parking at a rate determined by them, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Does my Flight Line Club VIP, Skybox VIP, or Penthouse VIP ticket include parking?
Yes, all VIP tickets include a parking pass. The pass will be emailed to you approximately 2-4 week prior to the date of the show. Due to the limited nature of Ocean City’s parking, only one parking pass will be issued per VIP purchase.
- Is there assigned seating in the Flight Line Club VIP Club?
Seating is not assigned in the Flight Line Club. There will be enough seats for all ticket holders.
- Will tickets be available at the gate on the day of the show?
Tickets are available for sale at our Guest Support Tent located on the Boardwalk at 16th Street.
- Do you have senior citizen, military, student or other discounts?
We offer a discount to everyone when you purchase your tickets in advance either online or by phone.
- Do I need a Promo Code for the pre-purchase discount?
No – the discount is already factored into the cost of your ticket.
- Do I need my ID to get into the show? Does the name on my ticket have to be the person who is using the ticket?
While it is generally a good policy to have some form of government ID on you at a public event like the air show, you do not have to present ID at the gate. Many guests purchase tickets to the show as a gift for loved ones, so you do not have to have the person who purchased your ticket with you. Please simply have your printed ticket available for scanning at the gate.
- What is the processing fee added to my ticket price?
The processing fee is included on all tickets purchased online, via phone or on-site at the air show. This fee pays for the support of our professional ticketing company and the speedy service they provide to each and every guest who needs their assistance.
- If I purchased tickets for Saturday can I use them on Sunday instead?
You cannot use your Saturday ticket for Sunday or vice versa. If you would like to change the date of your ticket, please contact our box office by telephone 877.301.8499 or email.
- Can I present my tickets on my cell phone?
You will be able to present your tickets for entry into the air show on your cell phone. If you purchased a parking pass in advance, please make sure it is printed and visible to parking and traffic attendants.
- I purchased my tickets in advance, but have not received them, what do I do?
Please contact our box office by telephone 877.301.8499 or email and they will be happy to reissue those tickets.

- What is your rain policy?
In the event of non-authorized intervention, weather or other causes beyond our control, the event may be terminated or suspended and tickets are non-refundable. If the event is cancelled in its entirety on Saturday due to weather, tickets will be honored on Sunday. If the event is cancelled in its entirety on Sunday or for the weekend due to weather, tickets will be refunded or honored at the 2021 event.
The Space & Air Show is a gated event and tickets are required for entry. No coolers, outside food and beverage is permitted except one (1) sealed water bottle per person up to one liter in size. Tickets are non-refundable. ln the event of non-authorized intervention, weather or other causes beyond control, the event may be terminated early. If the event is cancelled in its entirety due to an occurrence outside of the control of Event Management on one or both days, Event Management, at its sole discretion, may attempt to make an accommodation the following day or at next year’s event for discounted admission.
Photographs, video and other recordings (collectively referred to as “Images”) may be taken during the event. They may include your recognizable likeness and/or that of any minor accompanying you. By utilizing this ticket (purchased or provided at no charge), or other pass or credential you consent that you and any minor accompanying you may be included in such Images. You authorize Event Management to use such Images in any forms of media now known or later developed for marketing, promotional, advertising and publicity purposes, and/or posting on any event websites and social media accounts, all without compensation to you. Additionally, by utilizing this ticket or other pass or credential, you agree that all images you take, in and around the event, and published or shared online can be used by Event Management at any time for archiving, marketing, promotional, advertising and publicity purposes without compensation, recognition or attribution to you.
